April 7, 2009 Today, we practiced our classical song. I thought i had practiced well but I was wrong. I still need to improve my skills on my tempo. As well as my skills for fingering. I was disappointed at first that I did not did well but I decided that I could improve my skills by trying to study harder.
April 13, 2009 Today, we practiced our classical song again. I still mixed up some notes on the left hand. I think I need to practice harder for the next class. I am not very satisfied of my performance in class today.
April 14, 2009 Today we were told how to download finale from a website. We also learned to watch how to compose a song in finale. I was glad that my teacher did taught us again about how to use to program since i had forgotten how to use to program. I was grade 7 when i last used finale.
April 20, 2009 Today, we performed the classical songs we had been practicing for the assessment this term. I played Arabesque. I was so nervous that i did not play well at the first part of the song. I mixed up the tempo. Another factor is also because the piano was a bit slippery that i slipped some notes. I am disappointed but I am sure that I will do great for the next performance.
April 27, 2009 Today is the first day of UAN for most of my classmate. Half of the class was gone. We did not study much in theory class but we discussed about our reflection posting in blogger.com . I also gave my blogger URL. We will continue to study music practical. In practical class, we put chords into our song composition. After putting the chords, we tried to play our composition using the piano. My task is to practice at home since we are performing next week. I am so excited about the performance since I will play my own song.
May 4, 2009 Today, I resubmit my blogger URL and my teacher tried to open it. There were some careless mistakes that i made but the mistakes was fixable ones. I also copy the soft copy of my finale work to the desktop of the computer in music class. I also played mu composed song with the chords. I play pretty fine and I am very satisfied. May 5, 2009 Today, we submitted our final finale (hard copy). We also had a quiz about the glossary of music terms. I think I made a lot of mistakes and I am not satisfied of what I did in class today.
May 11, 2009 Today, we were given 15 minutes to practice our own song compositions with our instrument teachers. I practiced by myself for a few minutes and performed in front of my teacher. I am pretty confident for the performance. After the performance: I am glad that I did good for this performance. I am very satisfied. However, I will still practice more for my final performance which is during the exam week.
May 12, 2009 Today we were given our quiz result. I only get 6 out of 10. I am not satisfied at all of what I achieved. We also learned about inversion and I think it was not a hard topic.
May 18, 2009 Today, we learned about scales. From C, G, D, E and also how to put sharps. I feel just fine. We are to perform again tomorrow.
May 19, 2009 Today, we performed our composed song one more time. I did not play very well compared to my first performance. I am very disappointed but I am sure I will practice well and performed well during my final performance.

Term 3 Music Reflection
January 12, 2009
We did not really study today since 9A and 9B were combined in the music class. We are suppose to make a final decision wether we are joining either music or drama class. A lot people picked drama since they say that drama is a lot more interesting, but i picked music since I am no good in drama. After we were divided into drama and music, we have to pick the instrument class we are joining in Music. There are 4 options, which are guitar, piano, vocal and violin. First, all of us had to repeat by singing the rhythm that was played in the piano by the teacher. The result will determine which class we best belong to. I joined piano since i had most skill in playing piano compared to other instrument. There are some conflicts for those who picked guitar since there are too many people. So it was decided by the music department that the less talented ones will be forced to join violin. Some of my classmates were disappointed by that decision but i was satisfied enough since i got into the instrument class i want most.

Today, we reviewed which instruments we wanted and will join. After some discussion between the teachers of the music department, they students that were forced to join Violin can changed to guitar. We did not learn much today in music class. We learnt some musical theories but not much. I feel that today is pretty much fine.

Today, Mr. Herry was not there to teach us in the practical class since he had a meeting to be attended. Ms. Melvina substituted him since we have to be supervised. She asked us what we had learnt but we had learnt nothing since it was the first day of practical class. She decided that we should play the major scaled. I feel pretty excited today for trying to remember the major scales since i had forgotten some of them.

Reflection: Today in music pratical class, we learnt about scales. Specifically, the major scales. I played G, D, E, F, and A scales. My task for next class, is to learn B scale at home and to revise the scales i played in class today. I feel pretty bored since i had learnt it since i was a child but i realize it will be helpful to make me remember of my past lessons that i had not reviewed for years.

Today, we presented our group project in which we have to make a powerpoint presentation about classical and popular song. It was never easy to equally collaborate in presenting the presentation but we were able to manage to collaborate equally. I feel satisfied about this since i believe that i had performed my best.

Today, we were writing 5 questions because it is compulsory. The questions that we have to write have to be about classical and popular music. We were suppose to write the answer of the questions. I found it pretty easy since i've learnt about classical music and popular music from our last presentations.

Today, we are all suppose to play our selection song for our exam. As i had said before, i picked fur elise. I played the first part of the song pretty well. Next week, i am suppose to play the rest of the song which means i have to make more progress.

Today, I played a classical song Arabesque. I changed my song selection from Fur Elise to Arabesque since i think that Fur Elise is too long. The first time i try to play Arabesque, it was pretty hard since there's stacato all along the song and i have to play it pretty fast but as i practiced again and again, i began to play the song better that the first time i did try.
Whole term 3 reflection- March 30, 2009
Term 3 in grade 9 is the beginning of music class. During this term, our topic is about popular and classical music. I have to admit that there are a lot of different things that i found interesting about the topic. In order to know our knowledge and understanding about our topic of the semester, there are several tasks and test assigned by our teachers for us to do. The tasks such as oral presentation which was a group work, individual report and also a written test that we did during the term. Since i always listened to my teacher in class, i did not faced any difficulties to do all the tasks assigned. In this term, we also to prepare a classical song which we had to play according to our musical instruments and 2 songs which consist of Indonesia Pusaka and You've got a friend to be performed in front of the class. So far, we had not performed but i think that we had prepared enough. I practiced the classical song in Piano with my Piano teacher, Mr. Herry. I picked Arabesque as the classical song that i will perform later on during the performance. At first, it was hard to play the song fluently but as my teacher guide me through and as i practiced routinely, i began to play the song better and better each day. I also learnt some scales and chords which i also practiced in piano during my free time. At the beginning of the term, i forget scaled in Piano since i had not been playing piano for years but as i practice piano frequently, i began to remember my past lessons. This term is satisfying for me.
